Senior Backend (GO) Engineer

Senior Backend (GO) Engineer role at Kake, a technology company building modern web applications for consumer products. The engineer will join the technology team of a leading global sports and entertainment company, working on digital and streaming products, focusing on payments, subscriptions, billing, taxes, refunds, and commerce systems for direct‑to‑consumer products used at scale, including handling traffic spikes during live sporting events.

Обязанности

Lead the technical direction of key commerce capabilities from architecture and design through production; design and build scalable, secure APIs and event‑driven systems; work on payment authorization and capture, refunds, disputes, reconciliation, and subscription lifecycle management; build reliable systems that handle retries, out‑of‑order webhooks, idempotency, and eventual consistency; make architecture decisions balancing reliability, security, cost, and speed of delivery; take ownership of production systems, including incident response, root‑cause analysis, and follow‑up improvements; write high‑quality production code with meaningful test coverage and automation; mentor other engineers and help raise engineering standards across the team; evaluate emerging payment and commerce technologies to identify opportunities to improve conversion, reliability, and operational efficiency; work closely with stakeholders across different business areas to build reusable commerce capabilities without compromising individual customer experiences.

Требования

5+ years of professional software engineering experience with focus on scalable APIs and event‑driven systems; strong proficiency in Go; experience with payments or commerce platforms such as Stripe, Adyen, Braintree or similar; strong understanding of software architecture and large‑scale system design; experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, ideally DynamoDB and Redis; professional experience with AWS or another major cloud provider; hands‑on experience with containers and Kubernetes; strong computer science fundamentals and problem‑solving skills; professional experience using Generative AI tools in software development; strong ownership mindset and experience operating production systems; excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders across a distributed, global team.
